Meet Jessie

Hi, I am Jessie, owner of Earth & Elevate Movement Studio. My husband and I moved our family from SE Portland to our McMinnville homestead in 2020. I am a mom to three kiddos, ages 11, 4, and 18 months, plus a revolving door of rescue animals. While my role as mom is my priority, I am excited to nurture my identity outside of my family life and put my education and experience to good work. Teaching for me is very much a labor of love, and I am incredibly excited to join the amazing community of small businesses in McMinnville.

Thank you for being here!

Instructor Bio

Jessie is a fitness trainer, yoga teacher, and aerialist with over 15 years of experience working with clients in the movement and wellness industry, and a lifetime student of movement and performative art. She specializes in Vinyasa Yoga, Myofascial Release, and Aerial Sling. While being fun and explorative, Jessie’s classes focus on anatomy and the biomechanics of human movement.

Jessie, the daughter of two professional dancers, grew up in a dance studio and spent her early years dedicated to competitive Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. She started her career in 2006 as a personal trainer at several Seattle area gyms. In 2012, she completed her first yoga teaching certification while continuing her education in Athletic Training at Clark College. Offering a deeper connection, a source of healing, and greater physical understanding, Yoga quickly became the main focus of her education.

Jessie completed her second 200RYT training with her most influential teacher, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Yoga Medicine. Identifying with Jessie’s PT roots, Yoga Medicine integrates modern science and research in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology with traditional yoga concepts. She is currently close to completion in the Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist program. Jessie began practicing Aerial in 2009 and has experience in Silks, Trapeze, Pole, Lyra, Flying Trapeze, and her favorite Aerial Sling.

Jessie followed her professional dreams in 2015 when she founded her first yoga studio and wellness center, Simply Yoga Vancouver. In 2018, she combined her education in human movement with her love of aerial arts to develop an aerial yoga program and teacher training that she launched during her ownership of Simply Yoga Vancouver. Her program continues to evolve at Simply Yoga under the leadership of one of her trainees.

Jessie believes that perpetual students make the best teachers, and her classes reflect her ever-evolving practice and experience.
